IMPORTANT NOTICE TO IMPORTERS
Updating of information on the Price Fixing Information System (PFIS)
Following the upgrading of the Price Fixing Information System, importers are henceforth required to fill in information in relation to the “EAN” fields. Importers are also required to update the same information for the commodities for which the costing returns have already been approved.
Importers should update same by 16.00 hrs on Thursday 21 August 2025 as from the date of publication of this notice.

NOTICE TO IMPORTERS
The Ministry of Commerce and Consumer Protection wishes to inform all importers of the Consumer Protection (Consumer Goods) (Maximum Mark-Up) (Amendment) Regulations 2025 – GN No. 22 of 2025, effective as from Monday 17 March 2025 to include the commodities listed below under price control Maximum mark up

Importers are therefore requested to submit their returns as per section 3 (1) (a) of the Consumer Protection (Consumer Goods) (Maximum Mark-Up) (Amendment No. 3) Regulations 2024. The process for submission of new returns are as following –
1. Registration of importer on the Price Fixing Information System (PFIS)
- To access the PFIS, importers will be required to open up their web browser and type the following URL: http://pfu.govmu.org
- Click on “Register As a Trader or Importer”
- Fill in your company's details (BRN/VAT document) once your account has been activated
2. Further details can be obtained by consulting the Importer's user manual available on the URL http://pfu.govmu.org/content/help-system-price-fixing-information-system importers or for any additional information the Price Monitoring and Analysis Division of the Ministry may be contacted on 460 2500.
